IAM4RE.eu

To maximise Europe’s ability to transform scientific achievements into social and economic gains, there is a need to redefine entrepreneurship by focusing on the broader valorisation of intellectual assets. While there have been shifts in entrepreneurial education, early-stage support for managing intellectual assets in public research organisations (PROs) remains lacking, hindering the creation and strengthening of spin-offs.

The IAM4RE.eu project aims to redefine entrepreneurship within European Public Research Organisations (PROs) and Academic Institutions (AcIs) by focusing on the valorisation of intellectual assets (IA) and standardisation. The project will enhance the skills and capabilities of PROs and AcIs by providing modular educational resources, including training suites, a massive open online course (MOOC), and a “train-the-trainer” program.

IAM4RE.eu: sustainability and impact

IAM4RE.eu places a strong emphasis on long-term sustainability. The project’s outcomes, including its training tools and policy guidelines, will be disseminated and exploited to ensure continued impact beyond the project’s life. Additionally, the creation of a community of practice will ensure ongoing engagement and support for PROs and AcIs across Europe. Through these efforts, IAM4RE.eu will help bridge the gap in intellectual asset management, empowering European PROs and AcIs to better manage their research outputs and foster stronger innovation ecosystems.

In essence, IAM4RE.eu aims to address critical gaps in knowledge valorisation and standardisation by validating the skill deficits of target groups, mapping new training and service needs, and building on lessons learned to develop policy guidelines. These guidelines will support the adoption of effective strategies that enhance intellectual property (IP) management, ensuring alignment with the EU’s Guiding Principles for Knowledge Valorisation and the Codes of Practice on intellectual asset management and standardisation in the European Research Area.
